Re: Crown wheel and pinion
Mike Obviously I'll speak to you before proceeding - goes without saying, but I had just wondered whether I could / should take advantage of the currency situation as I was discussing with Kevin last week. Great to be " centre of the universe " at the moment ( in more ways than one ) - we'...

Re: Crown wheel and pinion
Thanks both ,
Great comments/ tips as I look further into the impending job!
How about the parts suppliers - any suggestions / definite "avoids " - from Europe or US.
Thanks again -

Crown wheel and pinion
Hi All After suffering for some while from what I would call ''backlash whine'' , it looks like I'll very soon need a transaxle rebuild . Costly I know but will have to be done in case of more serious damage in the future. No doubt there'll be other bits to replace once inside , if only for the sake...

Re: Barry Curtis
A bit late with my response due to being out of the country for the last week or so.
Nonetheless, I only met Barry a few times but he was always helpful ( as many other member comments) , and remained a " regular bloke"
RIP Barry

Re: 12 volt to 6 volt reducer
Thanks guys - Final decision is to proceed as before with pair of 6volt batteries. Can get plenty of power this way ( pair of 404 type batteries @ 70Ah. ), and as Mike quite rightly said - a bit of weight up front is no bad thing ! PS. Excellent service with supply of new battery from batterymegasto...

Re: 12 volt to 6 volt reducer
Thanks Mike - good point. Part of my thinking was that I could fit a more modern , sealed, battery which could be somewhat smaller and lighter than than the previous set-up , for the same sort of power output.? ( previously had 70 Ah from pair of Lincon 404 6volt batteries) An open bar, "classi...

12 volt to 6 volt reducer
Hi All For the last 10 years or so I've been running with two 6 volt batteries in the car so I can have 12 volt lighting and starting , but with all instruments etc., still running 6volt. I have two fuse boxes to cope with this. It has all been fine but as one battery has now gone down , I need to r...

Hi All
Just to let you all know my 914 has been sold to a happy new owner.
I've told him about DDK so hopefully he'll "join the ranks".
Regards
Steve

Car trackers
Hi All
Sorry if this has been discussed recently -
I'm looking at trackers without subscription - has anyone any experience or comments please ?
Seen a few online but I'd appreciate any comments / guidance.
Thanks

Re: 914/4 Prices
Good afternoon John Just thought I'd mention my 1974 ,1800 ( on carbs ) - Berber Yellow car with alloys , that will be available shortly after it's MOT and service at PR Services . I've owned it for just over years after purchasing it from a former Porsche Club official - good solid ,reliable car th...
