You might not know this as your 914 body shell is a U.S. spec. 1974 model year. This means your doors have built in side impact protection.

And why is there a bleed nipple at the bottom of the caliper? Graham Good question? One for each piston perhaps?? Early 914-4 and 914-6 rear calipers only had one bleed nipple, late 914-4 rear calipers had two. I think this was just so they only had to machine one outside casting that would fitted ...

Thanks Mike. It is indeed on the 914. The master cylinder is a 19mm one from a 911 I believe. I got rid of that pedal switch many years ago and wired it instead to the brake witch on the master cylinder. Original wiring on the 914 does not have a relay for the brake lights.
