Thanks for the additional info guys - it was a very nice replica as I've looked at Chesil cars before and have been less than impressed. I certainly didn't think it was a replica at when I saw it at Goodwood nor when I saw it a couple of years ago at Classics at the Castle. If I'd known it was a rep...

Do you happen to know what rep it's based on? Chesil?
I'd also be interested what the clever mods you refer to to add to the steel illusion are?

Thanks for the pics of NSL 442! :-)

Thanks for all the replies, I think I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to continue the search for a RHD car. I've been speaking to Roger Bray at Bray Restorations about restoring a car for me, so I know what is involved with a RHD conversion. The car will be for me, but I would like it to re...

Thoughts on LHD to RHD conversion?

I'm currently searching for a RHD 356 A or T5B for a full bare metal restoration. However, it's proving to be a difficult search given the relatively low numbers of RHD cars ever produced and finding a suitable candidate for restoration at the right price. I've found a couple of suitable cars, but t...

I saw your car at the Blenheim Palace PCGB show recently and was definitely my favorite car of the show - very nice indeed! There are photos of the renovation on Roger Bray's website... http://www.rogerbrayrestoration.com/356A1958CoupeLHD.htm It's certainly made me think twice about my search for a ...

Mike - thanks for your (generous?) offer, but I think I'll pass - I've found that the Classic Car Club in London will hire me their 1968 911T for £350 for two days. They're a bit expensive as I guess I'd only actually need to drive the car for a couple of hours and they're based in Central London, w...

Philip - thanks for the offer, that would be appreciated. I'm based in Liphook, on the Hampshire / Surrey / West Sussex border.

I've certainly had experience of driving classic cars - 1960's Beatles, Minis, VW Camper Vans, Land Rovers and the odd Porsche 356 - just not enough time in a 911.

Thanks for the potential offer for the Coast to Coast Tour, I'm hoping to have my own car by then! :)

Hiring a 911

I'd like to try and find a place to hire a classic 911 from for a few days - ideally a 2.2 or 2.4 T. I've driven a 1973 2.4 S, but only for 15 minutes. Before I go ahead and purchase my own car I'd like to drive one for a day or two. I've found that the Classic Car Club in London have one, but I don...

Thanks for all the replies and pointers to cars for sale. I like the look of Helen's car and it's certainly in the condition I'd like, but I've decided that I don't really want a SWB car. I'm going to keep looking for a 2.2 or 2.4, probably a T in really great condition. However, I'm still really te...
