Wanted - Cibie Pallas Hood Lights

Hello All,

Trying to track down a set of Cibie Pallas Hood lights for a 911 rebuild. Originals would be great, but repros would just be as welcome.

If anyone has a set tucked away they are will to part with or know of any leads, it would be gratefully appreciated.

PM me if preferred.

Cheers

Airey Fairey Steering!!

Hello All, I'm in the last stages of finishing off my rebuild (piccies will be on a separate post when I get round to it), but have an issue which is doing my head in. The steering is all over the place in the context of when I take my foot of the gas and when I change gear the steering goes really ...

Hydraulic Handbrake Conversion

Hello All, I've have a hunt around in the archives to see if there is anything on hydraulic handbrake kits to add to the existing side mechanical handbrake on my 914. I want to add a hydraulic system, while trying to maintain the current mechanical and original handbrake. Has anyone tried this conve...

Re: Towing Eye

Hi Rob,

I got a cheap towing eye with a thicker body and thread and gave a tenner to the local machine shop to machine off and cut the right thread into it.

I'll see if I can get you the thread size.

Good luck

Re: US Import

"Bloody hell" is spot on as a response, I think we'll hear it before we see it.

Many congrats on the purchase and for bringing it back across the pond. You'll be giving Moggy a run for his money when he's back on the road.......

Look forward to seeing it in the flesh at some point.

Re:

I've got a set on mine. I haven't had an issue with leaks as yet to report. I have more teeting problems with the handbrake and the fact that I have to unbolt the calipers to get the pads in. I've to try it yet, but shortening the pins may help. Don't know if I've been lucky, but even with the littl...

Re: 914 vs the rest of Porsche

Hi Moggy, glad to see you're putting many more of the track day cars to shame. It was certainly a pleasure watching you at Abingdon. I'm definitely a Minilite fan...... Perhaps see you on another track day in 2015? I've sorted my brakes since I last saw you so maybe able to give you a bit more of a ...

Re: Wing Mirror Glass

Thanks Stuart,
Duck tape has saved the day and it'll be a trip to the glass merchant tomorrow.
£8 sounds good to me.

Wing Mirror Glass

Does anyone know of where to get / or has a spare wing mirror glass?

Some b@st@rd has pinged mine in the Waitrose car park...... AAAAARRGH!

Roger Bray is a whole new assembly for £140. Porsche UK also looks as if it's the complete assembly.

Any advise would be gratefully recieved.

Cheers

Re: 914/6 rear callipers.

Hi Carl, I don't know if this is of any use, but I've just replaced my rear calipers for the PMB 914-6GT's from PMB. The rear calipers I took off, although are pretty standard (914) in relation to the pistons, they have been modified to accept vented discs. Would be happy to discuss a new home for t...

Re: What do you know about gearboxes?

I lost 1st over the summer after a few track days (no crunches though) and took the whole linkage assembly out and replaced all the bushings and bulkhead seal etc. It was quite straight forward. Got all the bits from Roger Bray. Once all new bits in and adjusted it's like a new gearbox!! Wish I had ...

Mystery and Call for Help; Chrome Trim has Vanished.......

Hello All, My left handside rool bar chrome trim has vanished! It was there one day and gone another. :( Therefore can a fellow DDK'er help / got a spare one or know of the best place to go. Pelicanparts are one of the few who may have one, but if there is one in the UK. It would be preferred. Cheer...
