Hi steve - i think my rod is shorter by about 10-15mm.... Difficult to be sure with the jb weld performance modification but 547mm wouldn't fit from what i can see. Cheers anyway - Marc

The 356 acc rod - does that length fit T5? I'll have it if so. Mine's had a big blob of JB Weld holding the end together for 5 years now...

That looks like a VW distributor... Probably a '.....009' model number? A number should be on the side of the unit and the last three digits is the model number? My 356 had had a '009' fitted when i first got it... Was a very common mod in the US i believe. My 356 ran pretty good but wasn't quite ri...

I'm always having little moments such as this. All said and done, I think all will be ok. If the rocker cover is badly leaking then it's worth replacing... although with patience you'd probably be able to bang it back into shape. I find the best way to remove the rocker cover is to tuck a decent rag...

I've had this for nearly 10 years now and it is really excellent... some signs of use here and there but nothing that spoils the overall charm. 60+mpg and next to nothing to insure. Free tax of course. Very original. The perfect run-about. PM me if there is any interest... air cooled and rear engine...

Roy - I read somewhere the other day that the very short length of link wire between solenoid and starter motor is also worth cleaning up while you have the starter out - Marc
