Pair of 15 x 8 Fuch Rims
A pair of refurbished Fuch 15 x 8 Rims - SOLD Although tyres have been fitted they have probably done little or no miles since refurb. Very difficult to determine the month / year as can be seen from the images. Shipping is not included in the price and I would prefer collection from near Shrewsbury...

Re: Your Porsche pic of the day......
It says – “an exacting ’73 RS Evocation” – but there is an unbelievable LACK of attention to detail, this stretches the bounds of credibility. Backdating (an evocation) a later car I can live with but forward dating (this is not an evocation) an earlier car is unacceptable to me, but if you do want ...

Re: Engine hesitant under acceleration - Coil?
Having done well over four hours of very tough night rallying with main beam and spotlights on, included some very steep accents the engine never missed a beat. Except when exiting a very deep ford (which sadly had a very quick Mini drowned out in the middle of it) there was a sudden hesitation but ...

Re: Engine hesitant under acceleration - Coil?
Thank you for all the input. I have cleaned, tightened, measured and remade (as necessary) all the HT and LT connections plus all the earths, reinstalled the suspect coil and found some improvement – it takes more (electrical) load to bring on the problem and it was not quite as severe as previously...

Re: Engine hesitant under acceleration - Coil?
Thank you Winston and Jonny for your advice and help. I have tried two “spares” coils (correct Bosch 0 221 121 001) both gave similar results to the one previously on the car (you live in hope!!). I really like Jonny’s explanation regarding the combustion pressure verses the sparks ability to jump t...

Re: Engine hesitant under acceleration - Coil?
I have tested the coil and my spares (similar results) but the problem occurs when hot and underload so not really representative. Jonathan, thank you for the endorsement / confidence booster on the silver Bosch Coils – I am now convinced it is the coil so it will be either be one of those or the on...

Re: Engine hesitant under acceleration - Coil?
Thank you for confirmation of the Bosch part number. The well known specialist suppliers list a number of coils (none are Bosch) for early cars but only a couple are quoted as being Transformers (1:100) or specifically for CDI I suspect that pretty well any coil will work OK with CDI until you put a...

Re: Engine hesitant under acceleration - Coil?
Yes, in fact I checked and reset the points gap before the event. Did you check the ignition timing and re-set it if necessary after adjusting the points? JW [/quote] Caught me out John  I did not at the time - I was just readjusted them back to spec - I have now and all OK. Jonny Hart used t...

Re: Engine hesitant under acceleration - Coil?
Returning home in the dark from the previous event very near home, on main beam for an extended period, there was just a slight hesitation once, however the rev counter had been a bit unstable and I put it down to points gap. Hence the reason for the adjustment. Needless to say in a day light test e...

Engine hesitant under acceleration - Coil?
I have an electrical issue with my 911 2.7 MFI rally car – in the dark under load (climbing a hill) or accelerating from mid-range there is a pronounced hesitancy. This happens initially on main beam with spot lights on before not even liking just main beam (dip beam it is OK). My initial thought wa...

Front Quarter Light Glass - Left Hand Fixed
I am after a front left hand (near side) fixed Quarter Light Window Glass for a 1973 RHD Coupe – green tint. The part number may be 901 542 501 27. It is possible that 1969 - 1989 are all the same.
Thanks in advance

Re: 917 replica in Norway
Yes I enjoyed that. A British built engine as well. It was Interesting to hear about the level of control that the Norwegian authorities exert over power to weight ratio / performance etc. I bet it was a challenge getting it through their IVA system. Although it is a one off, I wonder how it compare...
