Re: Unused cable at Voltage Regulator - 1968 912

Thanks all!
Yes, you are correct, it’s not a starter relay as such, it’s the ballast bypass relay.

On 912s there is no ballast resistor, right? Where would this yellow cable attach on 912s? Or is it just tucked back on itself and left in the air?

Re: Unused cable at Voltage Regulator - 1968 912

It connects to the starter motor on a 912. Not sure of its purpose in the 911 loom. With the ignition switched on it can be used to start the engine from the engine bay by touching it to live on the voltage regulator. Can’t remember which terminal off the top of my head. Thanks! With that info I fo...

Unused cable at Voltage Regulator - 1968 912

Hoping someone might just know this. A small part of the wire harness in the engine bay on my 1968 912 was fried long before my ownership (I promise!). It’s two cables coming out of the main loom together at the left hand corner and one is the thin solid blue that attaches to the voltage regulator 6...

Re: A few parts needed

I have a scrap 1970 doorpanel so I have some spare original black basketweave. How much do you need?
Are the door lock push not available in repro, or are the repros not good? I need one of these too so asking out of interest :)

’Speedster in a box’

I noticed Restoration Design released its all steel 356 Speedster body a couple of years ago. It is also available for self-assembly for those with a fearless attitude and a Celette jig. https://www.restoration-design.eu/speedster-in-a-box/ Does anyone know if any such bodies have been built/deliver...

NOS Recaro bucket seat slider parts

I have collected a few Recaro slider parts over the years and have the following available. I have two complete sets of the parts that bolt into the bottom of the bucket seat, meaning, per seat: - 1x adjuster mechanism with handle and Recaro knob - 1x Slider upper with cut-out for the adjuster stop ...

Re: WTB Recaro sport seat rails

I hadn’t spotted that. There does seem to be a different profile, but I wonder if it’s not just that the SierraMadre seem to have a wider hour-glass base and then angles in to have the same width at the top as original? Original seem to have a narrower base and a straight U-profile. Without having t...

Re: WTB Recaro sport seat rails

These are available as repro from carpoint and sierra madre. 700GBP or so for two seats. They look like really nice products. The non-adjuster slider in the seat I think is standard 356/911 and available as repro. Cheap too. The rails/mounts could potentially be crafted from repro 356/911 rails (aga...

Has anyone seen Historika’s 911R seats IRL?
They do look nice in pictures.

Are cibie biodes specific for LHD/RHD or were they symmetrical in that sense?

Re: Genuine Recaro bucket seats

Hi, The seats in your picture looks like they have been re-done. They seem to have that 1328 extra little hump on the bolsters but it’s not as prominent as ones used to. Also no holes for headrests. Recaro made seats without headrest (1967/1968/911R “elephant feet”/ GT seat) but then the stitching d...

Re: 356 Parts for sale

”Early” spindles? Is that pre-A? A? B?

Trying to figure out what differences there are between spindles but not finding anything conclusive.
Maybe DDK can help out with the details?

Cheers,
Marcus (with a ‘56 Oval and a bunch of 356A brake bits. Trying to piece it all together)
