Re: Sale advice 1972 911S

Thanks again everyone. It is not possible to register for road use any LHD brought in after a certain date (2006 I think). This came about due to lobbying by the local industry to stop cheap second hand LHD truck imports. I could bring it in but not register it. I could possibly register it but it w...

Re: Sale advice 1972 911S

Thanks guys! Magnum I would love to come and see the E when I am back. I know of David Lyons but not personally. A good mate's family are quite active in the "Crankhandle Club" in Cape Town. I am coming to the view that I will probably put it with someone on consignment... It could get pos...

Re: Sale advice 1972 911S

I would happily follow Mike's advice BUT, I cant bring a newly acquired car in free of 45% duty and 14% VAT as I would be able to with a car I have owned for (I think it is 2 years) prior returning to SA. In theory I coud have brought my current car (if it were RHD) in free of Vat and duty. Therein ...

Sale advice 1972 911S

Hi everyone, Been absent from here for quite a while - I see my subs are due  . I have moved back to Cape Town (South Africa) and due to a change in laws there I can't bring my LHD back with me (well I could but it would be very "grey" and not my style). So sadly the conclusion is th...

Well I had a chat to the chap from Historika (didn't get his name but it was his car). He says it is the real deal but there was some confusion because Jurgen Barth had said that it wasn't (usual story of more than one car claiming to be "the one"). He says Barth has now realised he was in...

Thanks everyone - repairs are beyond my tool and skill set! Also living in central London and not being a billionaire means I don't have a workshop. So... Can you suggest anyone who would be competent to do the job?

72 Oil Tank Repair

I recently replaced my tank but the old one must be repairable (it is also a placement from the 90s so not in bad nick). Thought is to get it done and keep it as a spare - any suggestions as to who would do this?

Totally agree with hot66. My car was soooo much better after Tuthill set up suspension and Bob Watson set up MFI. Truly a different car. (And it was supposed to be well set up when I bought it.... )

Storage but also has its own processor and ram. Means it acts a bit like a server. Means if you have Sonos (or Squeezebox) you can access the music files without having to have the desktop/notebook powered up. Also means can access other files stored on it from multiple computers/devices connected t...

Thanks very much everyone! Reason I was thinking of NAS is I don't have much space on my laptop and like the idea of being able to play the music without having to have the computer on. Also it would be good for backups (and movies and photos and other bulky files) I think. Using the airports route ...

O/T : Anyone using a NAS / Mac / Sonos setup at home?

I am looking into getting all my music onto a NAS (as well as using it for my backups). Anyone done something similar or got alternatives/recommendations?

Bit confused over what the best way to go is.
