So sad to hear this. Such a great guy, always had a friendly greeting a a good word - even when I hadn't seen him for a couple of years.

Re: Manual EV 356
Much of this is very depressing! Yes EV's will be significant as general transport BUT the current state of the technology means until it's done over 76K km EV's are less 'climate friendly' than petrol cars (see the lifecycle assessment by Polestar). Huge strides are being made in both synthetic fue...

Re: G Wagen on demo
Gwagen are marvellous things- if a bit bling now! Had three of them over the years, 280GE, 300GL, 500GE. The latter got hit up the back by a transit that pushed it into an artic, was still able to drive it home. Would have it now if it hadn't taken a year to get dome of the few parts that needed rep...

Re: No none electric car sales from 2030??
Gentle folk, many good words spoken above but: remember Gordon Brown and "All cars will be diesel within 10 years". Politicians will always leap on the first headline grabbing idea, it may be half finished (or half thought out) better solutions may be on the horizon but the response is alw...

Re: Ethanol free fuel - help in Scotland!
Don't know if this helps at all but copied today from Classic and Competition Car Hagerty has gathered impartial expert advice for drivers concerned about the introduction of E10 fuel, which will replace current E5 unleaded petrol in 2021. This could be the most significant threat to old cars since ...

Cayenne Insurance
I know there are others on here owning one of Porsches trucks so I was wondering who do you go for insurance. Our 955 turbo is up for renewal at the end of the month and as mileage is now under 5k a year I wonder if I can get it on some sort of classic policy?

Excellence Magazine
I'm still trying to downsize and rationalise the contents of my garage, quite bit of space is occupied by books and magazines (it's that sort of garage). So in these somewhat odd times an offer: I have Excellence magazines from 1 - 250 + the two supplements all in magazine files, this is a wonderful...
