Hi Helen, Will you be bringing the 'S' to Hedingham, if it's ready? I assume you have a stack of photos of all the work done, if so could you bring them with you as your run down of the work completed sounded pretty much like the same work I need doing on my 912 so I would be very interested to see ...

Helen, Forget any success you may have had in your former career as an estate agent! Forget any notoriety you may have achieved through PCGB and DDK! Forget any fame you may have through your column in Total 911! You really know you've made it when your car is mentioned in the Saffron Walden Weekly ...

If we're lowering the tone!

Here is my favourite Essex girl joke, I think i'm allowed to use it 'cos I live here but please feel free to delete this if you consider my joke too distasteful. A group of Essex girls have died and are lining up to get into heaven (I don't know why so many Essex girls died at the same time...maybe ...

He certainly seemed to be a well loved and much missed gentleman. To see them almost in tears talking about his death after 40 years was quite moving.

I think it might be part of a series as I saw one the week before about Jackie Stewart so I'd keep an eye on the listings.

Jim Clark: The Quiet Champion.

Hi All,

I just spotted that there is a portrait of Jim Clark on BBC 4 tonight at 19:00 (that's 7pm  ) in case anyone is interested.

Off for a nice drive in the sunshine now.

Hi,

If you let me know:

The wire size
The outside diameter
The overall length
The number of turns (looks like 10 total coils from the photo)

I will work out the rate of the springs for you.

I work in sales and I tend to not give out my surname..."please just send the enquiry to Anthony and it will find me" I say. A chap from east London asked what my full name was for their files and when I told him "Anthony Fitz-Gibbon", his reply was "Christ, that is a gobful...

Hi Les and welcome from fellow essex boy. I'm sure I've recently read another thread where someone else was having the same wiper problem. I think the advice given was to lubricate the mechanism...too much resistance on the motor blows the fuse. As Helen says we really need to tempt you into a pre '...

Hi and welcome from another (reasonably) recent 912 owner. Do you have any history of the car, if you have a big history file back to '69 then I would say go back to burgundy. If not, paint it what ever colour you like. I agree with Helen, leave it as is...it would certainly get you noticed but you ...

I would suggest you contact Andy Prill (of Maxted-Page and Prill fame), he races this car. I just saw it this morning at Porsche Curves in Coggeshall. It was in for a roll cage modification, I think.

Good luck with your research.

The company is called Porsche Curves, the guy's name is Terry Allen, his phone number is 01376 564001 and yes he is in Essex, Coggeshall to be precise.

www.porschecurves.com

He seems like a nice guy. I'm going to take my 912 to him to have a look at my bodywork issues.

On Saturday Andy Prill was saying that the beautiful 914 he had there had once been used as a fire tender for F1. It had a large foam generator on the back.

Helen, maybe you could aim for a full set of emergency service vehicles... did any Porsches ever get used as rapid response ambulances?
