Re: Project Blue Book

Great job as always. How did you get louvres in your engine lid. Do you think they will hellp much with cooling? Sent from my M2004J19C using Tapatalk The jury’s out on the louvres. I punched them in for aesthetics to go with the over cills. It will allow some heat to escape but it is a bit of a de...

Re: Project Blue Book

A few updates before the weekend kicks in. I have been struggling with the front tunk. I get everything lined up nicely and once I fit the huge springs that open it, it shifts the trunk lid to one side and there isn't enough adjustment in the hinges to compensate. So I have taken it off and removed ...

Re: Project Blue Book

Thank you all for the very positive and supportive comments, they are really appreciated. I have been a bit caught up of late although I have been busy working away on the little 914. https://i.postimg.cc/QdTWWLFH/IMG-3308.jpg After fitting the windscreen it was time to set up for the chrome trim. Re: Project Blue Book

Right oh, time for the engine lid to be sorted out along with the 'Ears' each side of it. These notoriously fitted 'Poorly' from the factory. I have tried my best, but still just a little 'Adjustment' needed :o https://i.postimg.cc/KvR1Cr7G/IMG-3232.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/bNWZPDLQ/IMG-3233.jpg A c...

Re: Project Blue Book

Really impressed by the fuel lines, they look like stainless steel and Army Navy standard fittings. I really struggle to know what AN6 fitting works with 3/8 or 10mm whole thing just impossible to understand. Countless Mr Google searches and still cant work out what I need to do for either hard lin...

Re: Project Blue Book

Thank you fellas :) I couldn't find a decent description anywhere on-line so thought I would get something down for others to use. Soooooo stressful. Worrying about how it would turn out, did I use enough glue or too much. However I think it came out about right. The wide rubber roller helped and I ...

Re: Project Blue Book

So today i thought I would tackle a job I have been putting on the back burner for far to long. The dreaded sail trim and Targa vinly. Now I have to admit I have never done anything quite like this before, so I may have over egged the cake a bit. However I thought i'd take some time and not rush... ...

Re: Project Blue Book

Thanks ever so much gents. I appreciate the encouragement. So lesson in assembling AN- Fittings... First tape up the pipe to stop it flaring when cut. https://i.postimg.cc/hGx6pqnM/IMG-3074.jpg I cut the pipe with an angle grinder with a micro thin stainless steel cutting blade. Remember to clean ou...

Re: Project Blue Book

Okay so we're onto the FUEL system. I write it in capitals because it's a bit of a grey area when it come to what to fit and how and where to fit it. I'm lucky that I am using the 911 fan as this removes a big chunk off the front of the engine and therefore provided a bit more space for the tricky s...

Re: Project Blue Book

First off. Thank you all the the positive comments, I really appreciate them! And a BIG Second. A massive "Thank you our kid" to TOBYONE who kindly turned down my rear discs this last week. Just one text and we were off to the races. I needed to reduce the diameter a tad and reduce the fro...

Re: Project Blue Book

Thanks fellas. Rear discs now turned down, so fingers crossed that they all fit up correctly.
Had to take a bit of thickness off the hub flange to help fit those big 9's in the back. There should be enough meat left
