Re: Latest rally update - now with rebuild updates

No update for a few days and I was thinking you were having a few days out of the garage!! Great work and tremendous progress. I think pink would be an excellent choice, you would certainly get noticed!!! I'm afraid that it looks like Hu has gone to the dark side. Your right, Esc.. yawn. Trouble is ...

Re: Latest rally update - now with rebuild updates

Blimey Moggy, you don't hang about! I saw the youtube footage and it didn't look good, really pleased that the rebuild is going so well. Hopefully see you around soon. Regards Keith

Crikey Moggy, even the presence of mind to switch the camera off, I would have out of the car in a flash. As has been said 'what a bummer'. Main thing is both of you are ok. Looks like you will be busy in the evenings but surely it is not a reshell? you did hit the pole fairly square so it shouldn't...

Yes, this can happen. Depends on how far the ball sticks out, if you know what I mean!!
Some cars have a switch to disable the sensors, eg Volvo, to get round the problem. Another solution is to fit a removeable tow ball, but of course when reversing with the trailer on will activate the sensors.

Should you rename this thread 'I have seen the light and now I haven't got any'? Scary moment, the tortoise just putting its head out!! Could the bump over the cattle grid have caused the wires to short out on the switch, hopefully it isn't fried. Better to find out all the problems now rather than ...

moggy, what is the wattage of each bulb? I ran 100 watt in all the lights, including main beam, not legal but hey-ho! This meant a total of 600 watts and so put a bigger alternator on and had no problems on 24 mile night stages. You can get 130watt bulbs which would be better. The lights under the b...

Glad you and Tim are ok. When you're just a passenger in these situations it is quite scary, waiting for the banging and thumping to stop. Hope the car is not too bad, looks better than the Opel Kadet! When I was with a chap in a 3l 911 he would left foot brake in those situations and the front woul...

On my 2.0 a few years back we failed noise as the car had just come off the trailer. After running it up the road and getting it really warm it passed. Didn't need the exhaust extension but do know that they work. As said, not pretty! On the 3.0 we found it was not the exhaust that causes problems, ...
