Re: Does $100k USD sound a fair price?

OP I'm not wading in (much) but to say to you..... this forum, more than any other I've come across, consists largely of genuinely helpful, knowledgeable, decent, well humoured and passionate folk. Interestingly both private enthusiasts and many, many in the trade, who without pushing themselves for...

Re: Adjustable spring plates - size 36 spanner

Excellent advice all. My friendly local bike shop has the appropriate Park Tools 32/36mm wrench on order and will call me to collect when received. I do love a simple/convenient solution! I look forward to tweaking my ride height without taking my car into a garage, wasting time, being frustrated th...

Re: Adjustable spring plates - size 36 spanner

Thank you gentlemen! I'm a cyclist, although former land rover owner too  , and will surely be able to make a plan!

Cheers

Re: 1972 car - Alumnium trailing arm upgrade - roll bar pin

Thanks James

yes - I think i've got that one. I've read that the 1972 cars had 14mm which matches the later cars and I've ordered the newer shock bolt, so should be fine. Well maybe, maybe not....will double check  .

Thank you

Adjustable spring plates - size 36 spanner

Hi all Silly question possibly but here goes... I understand that to fine tune ride height with the later spring plates (I'm about to upgrade) the 36mm spanner required for the eccentric adjuster cannot be a standard spanner, but needs to be a "thin" spanner to fit between chassis and spri...

Re: 1972 car - Alumnium trailing arm upgrade - roll bar pin

Hi All Brief update: I think I have this ball pin thing licked with help from some very time generous specialists (really appreciated, and in fact the whole ethos that pervades DDK specifically is amazing) so I have ordered the standard Porsche ball pin (i.e. that is welded into steel arms) and will...

Re: 911 belly pan

Hi

Can't answer specifically, but to say I think LHD is different to RHD (I'm obviously not sure if you're RHD) so that's one issue to be aware of.

Good luck!

Re: Throttle Bodies (EFI) – 45mm for 3.2L + ECU

Thank you for the time and interest "Smallspeed" I guess as this is a medium-term project (whilst funds are saved and other "in progress" rolling projects completed) i'm able to spend some time researching solutions and hopefully picking up parts. One thing that has struck me is ...

Throttle Bodies (EFI) – 45mm for 3.2L + ECU

I've started planning a significant project for my early 911 lightweight hot-rod, and whilst I know the world isn’t awash with these I have to ask :cheese: :)! I’m looking for a good set of ITBs from PMO, Jenvey or similar (in approximate 45mm size) to install with electronic fuel injection via prog...

Re: 1972 car - Alumnium trailing arm upgrade - roll bar pin

Hi Chris Thank you for your thoughts - I'm 100% aligned and it should work unless it's more complicated than meets the eye. Essentially we have a solid base (ie the threaded insert into the later alloy arm) into which to attach something that uses the existing early roll bar mechanics/drop link - if...

Re: 1972 car - Alumnium trailing arm upgrade - roll bar pin

Hi & thanks James I was afraid of that...….so that's part of the answer....they're custom! Do you recall if they mounted to the existing insert onto which the more modern roll bar drop links bolt? Does anybody know where I could purchase these pre-made or perhaps have detailed information (photo...

1972 car - Alumnium trailing arm upgrade - roll bar pin

Morning all I'm collating parts for the aluminum banana arm upgrade and have a set from a '82 arms which will fit onto the car fine. However I can't quite get my head round this small issue: My confusion relates to the banana arm mounted pin onto which the early style of roll bar drop link attaches ...

Basic gearbox/linkage question (915)

Hi all I do not have much experience with the 915, however, I'm struggling a little shifting into second gear. As much as I've adjusted the linkage, replaced linkage bushings, replaced gearbox oil and the transmission mount/engine bushings it has improved but still feels "notchy" into 2nd,...

Re: Fitting electric aerial / antenna in left hand wing of 9

Ben

Check but if I recall correctly the electric/motorised version actually went in the equivalent area but on RHS because of space constraints.
