Re: Your Porsche pic of the day......

Isn't the silver "RS" specification example above the car built for an ex military serviceman (up north), and which incorporated the tartan pattern of his regiment? It was for sale roughly six months ago (auction?) and perhaps hasn't sold yet, or is subsequently for sale? I may be way off ...

Re: Ram pipes

Hi FWIW I was interested in the very cool looking "tea-strainer" solution, however after reading up I determined that apart from looking very cool, they aren't actually a solution! They're a problem - they do not really filter out the bad stuff, and they lead to detrimental air flow change...

Re: 21st Century Outlaw 997 Project

That really is exceptional. Fantastic work, amazing commitment and brilliant skills - well done! I have no doubt this will become a bit of a poster-car for the hard core newer generation Porsche owners....catalyzing/facilitating a linking back to the DDK era cars for those of them that have been sol...

Re: Calliper advice please .

FWIW I've recently completed the GTV6 caliper upgrade to my 3" spacing "non-S" struts and can confirm these calipers are a straight fit (ie with the correct offset and caliper bolt spacing). However the short piece of hard line will need to be replaced - this isn't a big job and I sim...

Re: Specialist dealer sold my car but won't give me proceeds

To be honest if they're prepared to do this (and have given the run-round for this long), and you don't fully know the extent of their problem or dishonesty, things could unravel. I'd get an aggressive lawyer involved very fast - it usually only takes one letter....

Re: Resistor help needed

That's what I need too Ian. Duncan Rickards of classiccarleds is sourcing for me and has apparently identified two possible options. He's wanting to test them before confirming..... I'll post an update when I know! BTW - if anybody else has conquered the LED four prong flasher challenge then I (and ...

Re: Stone chip on pre A bonnet

I confess i'm looking at a similar thing on a non-Porsche classic I have. Isn't the repair complexity to a "home enthusiast, well that's what I am I think" (ie chance of high success) largely determined by the type of paint - for example a modern metallic with clear coat is most difficult ...

Re: Resistor help needed

Hi Sladey I'm struggling with the LED bulb flasher unit at present as the version supplied by classiccarleds.co.uk doesn't work. Did you buy the version suggested above (ie https://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/led-flasher-unit.html ), as it is presently out of stock. Any other suggestions out there - I...

Re: Screw in ball joint for post '78 ali rear arm ARB drop l

Completely agree Andrew, there must have been a lot of upgrades in the past, and present day too, so surprised there isn't an "accessible/off the shelf" solution. Interestingly I think the choice most make is to update their roll bar to get round the problem, rather than what should be a s...

Re: Screw in ball joint for post '78 ali rear arm ARB drop l

Hi Andrew I have just been through this - wilth help (via DDK) from Chris at Fenn Lane and Mike Bainbridge who happily responded. In short I've taken the standard Porsche pre-73 ball pin (i.e. that is welded to the steel arms) and machined a thread, as well as a shoulder at the base of the ball. I'v...

Re: Your Porsche pic of the day......

good observation. I was worried about your cars as I thought it might be this chap https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newsto ... -cars.html

Whilst they're very similar, it appears not in this instance???
