Re: A stab into the past: Triumph throttle bodies and other

I have a set of triumph ITB's if you want them? Happy to post at cost I have built up an ITB set-up on a 4cyl type 4 engine using weber pattern throttle bodies and manifolds with a sync link throttle linkage - works pretty well and was way cheaper than jenvey Might be worth looking at a VW 6 cyl log...

Re: M&W 550 Overhaul...

Exactly - i did the same with my e36 in the dry on track day tyres to get the balance set somewhere around the middle (road/trackday/slick tyres) and only really adjust a couple of clicks when its cold and damp, and a couple more in the wet, but that's on track - hill climbing i imagine is very diff...

Re: M&W 550 Overhaul...

Isn't being able to change the front rear brake balance useful? I see the F1 drivers playing with this setting all the time Sent from my Redmi 7 using Tapatalk F1 Drivers are threshold braking most of the time and in a lot of cases trail braking too, they're adjusting the balance to assist rotating...

Re: M&W 550 Overhaul...

The reason people usually fit Wilwood pedal boxes (and it will have a value when removed) is to allow you to change front to rear bias by adjusting a pushrod This is for adjusting brake balance not bias - correct brake balance can be achieved through correct sizing of master cylinder(s) and is impo...

Re: 1972 Honda CB175 Super Sport restoration

i've used a stock looking lucas one on my CB160/175/190 frankenstein - seems to work ok, but was about £8 wisdom when i was looking for one originally (and had the same issue as you re: cost! ) was both cylinders firing together isn't a major deal for the condenser even at the higher rpms of these e...

Re: 1969T tastefully modified

Use RC5+ The old RC5's were very noisy, the +'s seem to have fixed most of that and a few other issues (I think they've got better bite from cold, etc) I use RC6 in my track car and they're astounding when warm, but a bit too wooden and noisy on the road so I'd say if this is a fast road car then do...

Re: Cheap auto-darkening welding masks ...

I've got a cheap one and an expensive one - personally, unless you're doing a lot of stop-starts I don't think either are better than a decent "fixed" mask with a hood and good workspace lighting

Re: 1972 Honda CB175 Super Sport restoration

I might be teaching my grandmother to suck eggs here, in which case I apologise, but the first small Honda Twin a friend rebuilt (CB160) he had some issues on reassembly with the collets / spring retainers not quite sitting right. I've "fixed" this on old Mini's, VW's and just about every ...
