Then for fun ported out and polished up the inlet manifolds.. In the evening...

i don't care about race provenance, potential engine fires, poor reliability, or any of those things; if it had a lada badge and couldn't crack 60 on a downhill run i would still lust after that car.. its absolutely gorgeous!..

is it exhaust smoke or is it just because the oil's red hot? if it does it from cold/nearly cold (ie when the oil isn't "steaming" ) then that might point to piston ring blow-by although Im not sure how the gasses get from the crank-case to the oil tank/filler cap in a dry sump system; I c...

thing is if i had his money and i saw an rs that i wanted and was exactly the spec, colour, etc., i was after, i would pay whatever it took to make it mine.. he's in a lucky position where paying 100k over the odd's doesn't really make any difference to him

this is the only problem with a dry sump (well apart from all the arsing around to check the oil level).. you can't just pull the dip-stick and check for smoke. I've done a few merc engine rebuilds for people recently where the piston rings were gone; you could pull the dipstick and see smoke pourin...

got to agree with whats already been said.. breather blocked is simple and most likely, failing that valve guides/seals, or more likely than that piston/ring failure. Im not sure on the type of rings fitted or work done during your build, but if they've replaced the piston rings with standard ones d...
