They make (literally in their factory(!) a racing cover plate which uses the Sachs driven plate and thrust bearing, albeit 2 x the price of the Sachs HD clutch. Yep, I had one snap last year, replaced with this one in august 2023.
The strap here has bucked due to one of the rivets bending over in the alum cover, poor weak design. imho.

Going to call Helix tomorrow.

Removed the Sachs heavy duty clutch on the 3.2 today,
one of the 3 supporting straps on the pressure plate failed.

Probably lasted 30 miles.

Gear box off today. The cover plate is eccentric, or rather the pressure plate of the cover is eccentric. I'm told by a very knowledgeable Porsche racer today there is a race version of this road going clutch.
