To my mind Hacker had the edge over Gar Wood, maybe not in competition but in stylish lakes boats.

In my mind the Americans had the edge of the Italians in a more general sense too.

There's a chap in the US does a nice line in similar craft with the RR Meteor.

I took that pic, its 2009, Cowes, British Classic Yacht Club regatta, parade of sail. I've got my name and contact details with the Gelyce owner, my wife knows that if the Gelyce comes up for sale we're selling the Huntsman and talking to the mortgage company. Unless the Dunkirk Little ship Tahilla ...

Bridget Bardot had one, she named it BB, was nearly destroyed by fire and then rebuilt by a yard on the Thames, also sold for big money. To my mind, the Riva's are over rated, its a good under hull, speed efficient and has a kindly sea manner, but it make poor use of space for its length and is a ma...

I cant help but think anyone buying an impact bumper car with the sill covers in place for a price that would indicate good solid kidney bowls, or info from the vendor to that effect, needs to whip the sill covers off as part of the inspection, unless there is good recent history of the kidney bowls...

http://www.xkedata.com/cars/detail/?car=888330 Very interesting, so she was built 5 weeks before mine, interesting to note that your chassis number is so high in the LHD Coupe series, compared to mine in the RHD series being so much lower, goes to show that most of the prodcution was going to expor...

E types were raced in fairly standard form in those days.... perhaps there is some mileage in figuring out the original registration and searching from there? Regards, Bert 280 TOO - she still has her original number, maybe worth more than the car. Been searching for 5 years and not found anything....

I understand from one of the previous owners of mine that it was raced a bit in the late 60's, he claims he had a photo of it, although never managed to produce the photo and ultimately I drew a blank, in any event, there is not evidence on the car to suggest it did.

Pity.

Jonathan

I can see your car becoming a useful reference point for mine, given they are so close. Mine was very incomplete when I got it.

You might find matching numbers on the diff and g'box, also not the number is on the engine twice, head and block.

Did you get the original chassis plate?

On a 3.2 you dont need the giant crows foot, I think, it was changed to an M12 bolt with a 19mm head. Valid point about the Z1 mark, could easily be a little out. You have a choice of cam timing, look at the different settings used by Porsche on the various 180/204 Sc's and the 3.2, its all the same...
