Re: Mazda RX8......any good ?
Nice enough to drive, but I found the lack of decent torque a bit of a let down when I borrowed my sister in law's for a weekend. Did use a lot of oil as well.

Re: Toying with getting a 993 as an everyday car...realistic
Thanks for the feedback guys - all very helpful. Never having driven any 911 except my T, I think I should probably take a 997 for a test and see how that feels before going down the 993 route as a daily driver. I just don't like thought of all that liquid in the engine, just doesn't seem right some...

Heating/demisters I can cope with, bits falling off from rust I couldn't
How's the bodywork on yours held up over the years? Also, I presume 25mpg is about as good as I could expect?

Toying with getting a 993 as an everyday car...realistic?
I'm toying with the idea of getting a 993 as an every day car. It would have to live on the drive and would probably do about 200 miles a week. Ideally I want a '97 Carrera 2 S manual although they seem to be getting hard to get hold of now. Are these practical as a daily car these days? How rust fr...

Re: Early morning blast into Wales
Picasa is really excellent, both the desktop software (works with Windows and Macs) and the web based service. I think I pay Google about $20 per year for 80GB of space to sync all my photos to as well.

Re: Early morning blast into Wales
I'm no expert so trust me it takes no skill! All my pics are stored in Google Picasa and all I did was use the built in editing tool in their web interface to crop it, auto-fix the colours and apply their standard 'Lomo-ish' filter effect (that effect seems to suit the car's age quite nicely). It di...

Early morning blast into Wales
Finally managed to get the car out in to Wales for a decent run yesterday early morning, here's a couple of quick pics from a road just off the 'EVO triangle'. Was so quiet i even managed to take the pics on the correct side of the road! https://dl.dropbox.com/s/vkkfjn3ftjmz1um/Photo%2011-08-2012%20...

Any items from original tool kit supplied with 1972 2.4T
I'd like to try and build up a tool kit to go with the car replicating as closely as possible the original kit that the car would have had.
I guess I'm clutching at straws, but if anyone does have any items, I'd be interested in them!
Cheers, Ross.

Re: Sudden loss of power, not firing on one or more cylinder
Phew, panic over. Was a fueling problem caused by a loose clip on a fuel line. Jonny goes up in my estimation for owning up to it being a human error. Probably also explains the stink of fuel I was getting in the garage. The sun is shining and I'm going to get up early on Saturday and drive the damn...
