Re: Insurance - any suggestions?

I had a conversation with Hagerty (whom I thoroughly recommend) about my old car and it became apparent that the car is not covered whilst its being worked on/restored at your given address with the usual road cover - if you set fire to it with a welder or a grinder etc they wont pay up! I would tel...

Re: D- Day pictures - then and now

I did a week there 5 years ago. There is an Imax cinema at Arromanches that does a very good then and now drive through Caen and other villages which is very thought provoking. Caen museum excellent. The US and UK cemeteries are worth a visit as is Arromanches and the mulberry harbour remains on the...

Re: Safe car jacking

It might be worth searching for other threads on this - the subject has come up many times. Some swear by jacking the car up by the engine and others say no! Use timber and jack up the jacking points then axle stands?

Re: RIP Paul Walker

Its the USA - so a lawsuit will inevitably follow, on a contingency basis no doubt. 30-40% to the lawyers from the out of court settlement that usually occurs in 90% of the suits. Will they argue that there was no sticker on the dashboard to warn of injury/death etc?

These are after market - du pont etc. Porsche will quote over a grand shipped from Germany and they are a later car screen.

Re: Windscreen with Aerial and/or heating

There is a chap on here Stuby? who works for national windscreen who sell them. The ones from Porsche are for later cars and are very dear as well as incorrect. Unless you know its the original screen I doubt it adds much in the scheme of things!
