As Cortina says, the 2.4MFI had a warmed air inlet feed supplied via a flapper box to speed warm-up. I ditched mine when I fitted SSI manifolds, they don't have the stub to attach the feed to.

Plus, the engine looks cooler without all that stuff fitted!
