Re: Tuning

I have used Airey Tuning in Cheriton twice before and also Wrightune (although they are near Oxford). Tom Airey is a character to say the least but I've been pleased with the results both times and no problems at Wrightune either.

Re: 1949 Humber town bike restoration

For a quick fix on the seat you should be able to remove the saddle and turn the part that grabs the seat rails so it's facing the other way. I can't tell from the pictures but the part that clamps the rails should be seperate from the actual seat post. If it's all one piece you should still be able...

Re: 911/912 Chrome door top trims

I've had a question on the door top trims that I need help with!

Were the heavier chromed versions for earlier or later cars? and were the anodised aluminium for 68 or 69 onwards?

Thanks,

Mark

Re: Bolt drilling advice - Door striker bolts

Success! There wasn't enough thread to lock two nuts and I don't have access to a welder at home so I carefully drilled them out and once I'd got a small bit all the way through switching to a larger one would eventually get them turning and I could then pop them out the back of the wheel well. In t...

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?

I did buy a new one but once I had it all apart there was enough material for a good glued join so the new one is in the spares box for now.

Bolt drilling advice - Door striker bolts

The previous owner has at some point replaced the triple square bolts with Philips head bolts. I'd never really paid attention until I decided to fix a rattly passenger door latch. Correct bolts have arrived so I set about trying to remove the old bolts and of course the heads round straight away. S...

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?

Fixed the broken heater flap that was stopping heat getting to the passenger footwell. Cables off, hoses off and remove the clips that ping off at any opportunity. 4 little split rings off and the box splits in two to reveal the broken flap that I assume got stuck either open or closed and broke at ...
