Yes it may be pricy but at least I know I will have everything when I need it. My problem is I don't know what I do and don't have so I don't know what to order.
Really just shecking to see if anybody knows of a better or better priced kit.

Engine rebuild hardware (fixings) kit
So, I am collecting the machined engine parts from the machine shop this week in preparation for the big reassembly. It is an unmodified 2.4T As I am building this engine for my 914/6 conversion from a complete engine, but not one I have taken out of a running car, I figure there will be lots of bit...

Re: 914 - Roll bar solutions
I must admit I have been thinking along the same lines as you. However well built a car is if it does not have something joining the tops of the doors or the screen to the roll bar (a la stag) then is is missing out on some strength to stop it flexing (scuttle shake) and I get plenty of that in my c...

NOW SOLD - 1967 Beetle
NOW SOLD So, I have too many projects and not enough space. Therefore I have to sell my Beetle. It is one family owned, me and my Dad, original, unmodified 'basic' Beetle. My dad bought this car new in August 1967 and gave it to me in June 1984. Therefore I can tell you absolutely everything about i...

Re: Convert to RHD
I have a project car which was undergoing a rhd conversion before I bought it. I want to put it back to lhd so I will be cutting out the modified right side bulkhead and replacing it with a lhd panel which I have bought from a car that was being broken. I also have an alluminium rhd dash frame that ...

Re: A little project I picked up this weekend
It's been a year and a bit since I brought my project home and progress has been slow (I'm no Darren). It did take a couple of months just to sort the huge pile of parts into labelled boxes. I decided to start with the engine as I have owned that the longest and you have to start somewhere! Engine a...

Re: Winter jobs on my 914
Yes the legal situation is yet another example of where the law is not keeping up with technology. It also gets on my wick that laws are written so badly. Why do they need to specify 55/60W bulbs when what they actually meant was the lights must not dazzle oncoming traffic. I have a similar situatio...

914 back pads
Again from the project car I have several interiors so I am offering the surplus ones for sale. First up is one complete back pad for a later car in reasonable condition. The dimpling on the bottom of the middle section is just where it has been leaning against the pabbledash wall so will relax out ...

914 engine 1.8
Update: So prompted by a question I took the head off one side and discovered that this must be a VW bus engine  . The valves are 37.25mm in and 33mm out so it's not a 914 head. The pistons are flat top high compression ones. However, on the plus side it is completely spotless inside and so co...
