Re: 79 SC Targa restoration

And the original advert with the immortal lines of: 'At some period of it's life it had some accident damage to the drivers side rear inner quarter, this had been repaired many years ago very poorly but is a very simple repair to put right.' http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg69/TheEasyLife/sc%20t...

Re: 79 SC Targa restoration

The plan is to leave it alone in storage until spring or summer next year as I've got more than enough/too much on my plate this year.

You say you know a chap who knows about these old cars in Sussex? I think I've met him before. Is he called Dave? :-)

Re: 79 SC Targa restoration

I've seen a suitable car and am very interested. I live in the East Midlands and have just started a new job with a company based out of Hampshire so am getting to know the various hotels in the Basingstoke area. Some lovely, some not so. Work keep me very busy during office hours and a few outside ...

79 SC Targa restoration

I sold my 73 911 Coupe after 9 happy years of ownership but 7 years of use due to a growing family these last 2 years. I had a massive feeling of missing something vital to me once it had gone. It literally felt like I'd lost a part of me and was mourning. Not what I expected. I'd been a secret fan ...

I hope it is not too bad and that you will be able to drive it before too long.
What colour is it?
Hi Jason,

No. It's a shed. Won't be on the road for 3 or 4 years!!!
It is (was) light metallic blue. You'll cry with laughter at the pics at what I've bought..

My guilty secret, a 79 Targa

OK, I admit it, I bought a 79 Targa last year. It's a shed frankly and the plan is for this to be a long term project as I've precious little spare time these days what with 2x young kids at home and a manic professional life.. Will start a restoration thread at some point soon with pics so you can ...

Re: Authenticity Question Please

Has anyone else noticed the Green (Boxster colour?) SC on eBay for £22k has a number of BLU673T? 2 lower than this one.. Wonder what colour that one was originally?..

Told you I like Targa's. :-)

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?

Not mine, but took a relatives 10 year old 2.7 Boxster out for a spin in Warwickshire this afternoon. Was the first time I've driven a Porsche that was built after 1972. Yes, really. Was impressed with how quiet it was at motorway speeds. Was impressed with how easy it was to get to said speed. And ...

Re: megasquirt ms2 v3 ecu / full package - you choose..

I'm late to the party as per usual but for future reference: Shaun at www.ms2tuning.com (based out of Lincolnshire) has the pattern for a Megasquirt wiring harness for an aircooled 911. Shaun is a mobile Megasquirt tuner and tuned my 73 EFI and ITB engine quickly and very well to 178 BHP. I can't si...

Re: 911RS Replica Engine Specification

Is it only MFI that can produce the performance and throttle response of a 2.7 spec engine, for instance could a properly sorted efi system on ITB's achieve a similar feel. I'm only asking, as I have a fully rebuilt 2.7 engine, was originally on CIS but has been stripped/rebuilt; twin plugged, JE h...

Ooh, the M42 option. Very cool. I'd love such a targa in white.

What colour is the interior please?

And I'm of the same opinion of Bert :-)
