The underside looks like its been dipped in a vat of pink playdough. Is that some sort of cheap alternative to underseal?

I'm not in London (suppose that probably makes a bit of difference) but mine is £175 fully comp with Footman James for a 29 year old on a classic policy.

I quite like subtle cars like ks's old choptop too but I also think if you get a custom just right like the original targabug it can look great. I think there is a larger possibility for error going all out custom but you just need to really think it out first and you could create something amazing....

Just got back from there. Had a nice varied turn out and lots of tea's and bacon baps most importantly. Turnout highlights for me included about 5 porsches, some choice vw's, a few retro rides including a nice slammed white toyota 1000 running a toyota light ace engine, a very interesting Va...

Cheers for the replies folks. Thats been a big help. I think I might go back to a multigrade mineral oil. I believe the engine in my 912 is a harry pellow built unit but I have no documentation to prove how old it is so I might try and be safe not sorry when you say 'multi-grade' , you realise that ...

Hmm, I see what you're saying. I suppose you're right about the hub to fuchs thing aswell. Then again knowing porsche they probably used some special blend of steel to prevent it (maybe a high chromium content grade?) I don't ever remember seeing much rust on my hubs when removing the wheel? OK disr...

Fuchs need spacers! and steel nuts as the ally ones don't have enough thread to be safe. Was some talk about Smart car wheels for 356's to give a lower tyre wall but don't know if that was for 4.5 or 5.5 tho How will steel nuts having more thread make any difference unless you are saying that the a...

Which oil?

OK I got my 912 a couple of months back now and its about time for an oil change. The trouble is when I purchased it the receipt for the last service said that semi synthetic oil had been used on the last oil change  this was a shock to me as I was expecting the car to be using a good multigr...

Also check your fuel pump is working ok, I've had a similar problem in a beetle. It ran fine until I went over 60mph when it just spluttered and would not accelerate (handy when your trying to overtake!) The fuel pump was starting to fail and could not pump enough fuel as was needed for the higher r...
