Ignition barrel on 356A

My 356A has a loose wire behind the ignition barrel - apparently there are three wires to the back of the barrel, and one of them sends the power to the crank. This wire (I was advised by the breakdown man yesterday evening when I went to leave work and car wouldn't start!) is loose. He fiddled with...

Hi David - sounds interesting! What time does it start/ end? I'm toying with the idea of going down on Saturday afternoon (if I can find any accomodation?!?!?) so that could work well...

Hi Steve - all running much better thanks! It spluttered back from Hedingham then I took it to Jez at Carrera Performance in Horsham - 3 days later all fine! Been going well ever since, although I think I will be booking in for some more major work over Winter - mini-engine rebuild I think...then so...

Goodwood Breakfast Club

Hi all - I'm going down to the Goodwood Breakfast Club meeting on Sunday August 5th. The theme for this particular meeting is "Deutsche Marques" - all things German welcome! I'll be trundling along in my 356A along with a friend in a 996TT and hopefully another mate of mine in a 997 2S wit...

Ashrolfe - that looks amazing! I'm very interested in this as I am thinking of doing the exact same thing early next year, although I'm thinking of using a 3.0 SC as the base model. As it happens I did the Cannonball Run a couple of years ago (in a 964 Turbo II that I had at the time), and it was a ...

About a year ago I bought a Maserati 4200 Coupe. Super quick, 390bhp and a paddle shift gearbox (and despite what Clarkson says, they are amazingly fast!). Six weeks ago I bought a 356A, 75hp and a wobbly gear lever. :) The Maserati is now on the drive, the Porsche in the garage. I think I've driven...

Interesting point. I was at Hedingham the other week and noticed the same thing - so many really cool colours. If you go on to Porsche UK's used car website these days I would say 80% of cars are either silver or black. The rest are blue. Oh, and I once saw a yellow one that same brave soul went for...

Sorry - I just don't 'get' the PGO at all. It looks pretty poor to me. Somewhere between a Nissan Figaro and a 356. If you can't afford a real 356 Speedster (and I can't!) then I don't see anything wrong with getting a good replica - but the PGO is not (IMHO).

Bloody hell - sorry to hear your car was keyed - what scum. :(

I'll be taking some photos at the weekend and will try and post them. Any ideas on how I upload photos please? Is there a link explaining?

I did wonder - he said he'd been on the phone to a dwarf in leather pants, so I put two and two together from yesterdays DDK photo gallery....
