Based on nothing but reputation and hearsay, as i've never had an engine built by anyone........ If i was in the market for a VW motor, either Type 1 or 4, i would be going to John Maher or more likely Laurie Petitt. I think Maher would be the more expensive of the two and probably has a waiting lis...

Thanks, i'll take it please, I might be able to use it as a template to make a new one, then let you have it back. My dash has a cover fitted - which does seem really good, but there's nothing under it where the speaker should be. So i don't 'need' to fit one as there's no visible hole, but i would ...

Thanks, looking at the diagram for a 69 911s, the loom isn't the same but there are similarities. I think my blue/green wires are the same as the black/blue ones in the 911 diagram, which just seem to link all 5 gauges from one to the next. Just been behind the dash fitting my replacement temperature gauge and found a couple of loose wires. Can anyone identify what they are and where they should go? Just to let you know, I couldn't find spares for a 050 (cap, points, rotor, condensor) so i contacted Michael at Machine7 (who has always been very helpfull in the past) and he's getting in 050 spares for me.
