Based on nothing but reputation and hearsay, as i've never had an engine built by anyone........ If i was in the market for a VW motor, either Type 1 or 4, i would be going to John Maher or more likely Laurie Petitt. Oh wonderfull, just to make it that bit harder to find a replacement!!!!! along with the one year only 912 temp gauge i had to find and the one year only 912 wiring diagram i still can't find!!!!!

There are a few on US ebay at the minute $650 buy it now + $160 shipping. God knows if they're any good though!!

Sorry if I didn't make it clear - the 'G' on the diagram is the Generator light not a sender terminal.

Thanks, looking at the diagram for a 69 911s, the loom isn't the same but there are similarities. I think my blue/green wires are the same as the black/blue ones in the 911 diagram, which just seem to link all 5 gauges from one to the next. I bought the basic 911 one (without oil pressure gauge) from ebay and have just fitted it - works a treat

Just been behind the dash fitting my replacement temperature gauge and found a couple of loose wires. Can anyone identify what they are and where they should go?
