Re: New Car Woes - 1...Update

I think that Bruce's summary was good and fair. I am in the cycle business where we custom build, repair, service and repair bikes. We see situations where people have bought bikes privately which the PO claims are working perfectly and just need a tune. We see it when a problem occurs, we do uncove...

Re: Very quietly please, this is about . . .Cayenne

I have used the following Foxwell 301 unit which works really well on my cars and is not subject to the same limitations of the iCarsoft unit which I also own.

Re: Possible storage needed

Jonathan, Graham put me in touch with Westwood Storage out in Worcestershire. They are storing my wife's car for the moment. They have been really good and also they have access to a gentleman with a covered trailer to transport it back to them. It costs me £100 + VAT pcm. This was the best I could ...

Re: Car storage Query

Folks, Many thanks for the words of wisdom. Graham, the Westwood Storage looks a good option and is a reasonable price. Thanks for the recommendation. I will be chatting with them when I get a minute. The fact that they can pick the car up transport it and trickle charge it and store it in a decent ...

Car storage Query

Hi All, I am about to loose my garages and I need to find a place to put the wife's car which is in long term hibernation until I can agree its disposal. So, with that in mind, I need to find somewhere to safely park and store it until further notice. In London it is hideously expensive, also I do n...

Re: 356 Nardi Wood Wheel

Hi Andy, You are correct, I was having a senior moment. The splines are the "coarse" type which means that the boss is suitable for an A type steering column. Thanks for keeping me honest. Here is a second attempt at posting the photos : [img] https://photos.app.goo.gl/HFTciHKedmdwu5dt6 [/...

Re: Split Rim Refurb. Recommendations

Thanks Sam,

I know Lepsons, they have a good rep. However, they are in Gillingham which is a fair way away with some logistics challenges.

The 2 piece split rim as far as I am aware means that the rim separates from the one-piece centre.

I may be proven wrong.

Split Rim Refurb. Recommendations

DDK Folks, The 2 piece BBS Split-Rims on my 996 are looking a bit worse for wear with the paint peeling. I am looking into getting them refurbished and ideally balanced afterwards. Does anybody have any recommendations for a wheel refurbisher who has experience in split rim wheels ? I don't have spa...

Re: Off topic cycling chat for the cyclisti out there..

Mark et als. I have seen a LOT of carbon frames and a LOT of damaged frames. Personally, I would not repair a carbon frame unless returned to the manufacturer who is willing to warrantee it and be liable for any issue thereafter. There is carbon and there is carbon. Compare a Planet-X and Storck fra...

Re: Off topic cycling chat for the cyclisti out there..

Carbon is a great material if you are racing where every gram counts. You can get frame sets down to approx 700g. Strong, light and often VERY stiff. Some manufacturers use several tricks to reduce the shock of the stiff frame to varying degrees of success. Ultimately they are heading for the dumpst...
