Meritcars.com

Anyone bought from or seen a car bought from meritcars.com in the UK? Prices are good and details are good (pics and videos), working on the basis that they are 'projects' they seem good value? e.g. $12000 for a T landed in the UK is under £10k? This looks ok? http://picasaweb.google.com/MeritCars/1...

£20k not £18k but can't see how you could go wrong with this:

Excellent history and warranty cover.

Engine and boxless rsr rep sold for £8k recently (details in 911 forum), needing tidying and possibly some more rust work. Try that as a guide, £5k would seem very cheap if it is solid. Buy a rusty SC for another £5k and for £10k you'd have a very nice track car.. Paint it well and I think there is ...

Avoid a Sebring and PT Cruiser too. The Volvo we have was a tiptronic with the 5 cylinder 2.5 turbo (Focus ST motor) and very nice for covering the miles. I would wholehartedly recommend a night stop in Cambria on the coast (you might even catch a few R Gruppers at the Fog Catcher Inn ;) ) there is ...

Also, www.pristineporsche.com, www.carplanet.com and if you are out that way www.dodiauto.com (although he has far less stock that when I was last there 4 years ago if his website is up to date). I'd forgotten about the oil flap.

I don't think more pic's are to be forthcoming.

I won't be pursuing it further and hope this thread serves as a warning to others.

It was the bonnet fitment, interior and sunrof that stood out for me. I have nothing against backdates, in fact given the difference between the price of an early car and my bank balance ; ) an SC needing body work and then take the opportunity to backdate is exactly what I am looking for. I wouldn'...

Backdate or fakedate? (SC/Rep)

Am I too cynical (and with not enough knowledge of the body shell changes to be able to tell from the pics) but is this simply an SC with backdated front/rear and some 'creative' changes to the identity to mask the age? http://cdn.images.pistonheads.com/aimg/1621/1621096-4.jpg http://www.pistonheads...

Something about the original ad doesn't seem right to me either. Looks very nice though but worth double where it is at now, that engine bay has seen some serious ££'s. Unless of course the floor is falling out, the pictures were taken 3 years ago and now the hood is mouldy/saggy and the front end i...
