Sold - 912E

Now sold For sale is my 1976 Porsche 912E in Sahara Diamond Metallic with tan/beige interior. It's a rare sunroof model and is possibly the prettiest '12E in the UK! I have owned the car for about three and a half years and will be sad to see it go. But I'll be equally happy if it goes to a good hom...

Question... still on topic i think... my E is running a standard VW type4 engine (VW heads not Porka). It therefore has type4 bus exchangers etc. I want to replace the back box as it a) hangs too low b) is too bloody noisy! Given that the kosher 912E item a) won't fit and b) are like hen's teeth in ...

Hmmm... I have a similar problem with my 912E. First and second gears can be particularly tricky once the car is warm. I have not tried adjusting the clutch cable yet, but was thinking that perhaps the springs in the clutch plate had hardened with time and therefore the clutch does not "release...

hello mate. replace like with the like would be my first thought, unless you really dont like the brand/type of tyres you already have. I'm running 15" Fuchs on my E, so probably of limited assistance. My tyres are Bridgestone RE88s all round. They seem fine (although fronts want replacing). Ob...

Del Thanks for the offer mate, but need one soon-ish and a bit of a trek down your way just for a battery. Hope your lovely 12 is still giving you plenty of smiles! Nige Phoned my local GSF and they said they no longer stock Bosch... wtf?? Anyway, looking at maybe a Varta in 66ah. Dimensions have to...

912E - recommendations for new battery?

Need to replace the battery on my 912E. The one currently fitted is GSF own brand 45ah, 278mm x 175 x 175.

Can anyone recommend a decent quality replacement?

Thanks.

The brakes on my 912E were binding/sticking a while a go... turned out it was the brake pedal sticking in the "on" position. This was down the pedal box being full of surface corrosion (not rot), thereby preventing pedals from moving freely. Pedal box out, dismantled and cleaned, re-lubed ...
