Re: Porsche for sale of the day..........

. It's been for sale for a while - seem to remember Paul Stephens listed it back at the beginning of the year. Just goes to show how much money you can lose when you give specialists 'carte blanche' to build you a car with an 'open chequebook' approach !! For reference, this is how the car l...

Re: 1971 Burgundy 911T

. Since I'm planning on replacing the std air cleaner assembly with a pair of K&N Watershields, I fitted the 'period' VDO plastic washer bottle (mentioned earlier in this thread) as an oil vapour catch tank in the right hand rear corner of the engine compartment: https://live.staticflickr.com/65...

Re: Oil temp gauge issue

Did the gauge on your car look like mine? I believe there are more than one type. Mine was a 'C' (& also 12v) but the gauge was almost identical - differing only by having 2 additional warning lights in the centre circle. There were many versions of this combi gauge - some with numbers for the ...

Re: Oil temp gauge issue

. I seem to remember there were 2 different temp sensors which acted in different ways - one increased in resistance as the temp went up & the other decreased. It could be that you have the wrong version fitted. Also new 6v temp sensors weren't available for some time & used originals comman...

Re: What's a safe redline for a 2.2 with stock components?

. I don't think you need to worry about exceeding the safe rev limit with the relatively mild modifications you're planning. A std 2.2S has a redline at 7300rpm but peak power is developed well below 7k - around 6500rpm from memory - so, other than shifting into the wrong gear (eg 3rd instead of 5th...
