Can't see how these would work as they need to sit flush in the frame hole on both sides. The frame junction is on one side and the main window seal are on the other. It can't protrude at all from the shallow hole in the frame, so can't see how you can use any type of rivnut which will have a large ...

Don't think so. They are a splined outer that is pressed into the aluminium frame. A Rivnut normally relies on passing through a panel so it can be crushed back onto it.
