Re: Photographing cars ...
Motivated me to get out tonight before the clocks go back and the dark nights begin. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50517653256_b0afd45cd5_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50517821627_1eefb553b8_c.jpg That's a really gorgeous looking 912 and it looks like an unusual colour in that lig...

Hi Feroz,

Doug

That's a nice box.
I'm not sure what tree that top veneer is from but I think it's a re-engineered wood veneer from the like of Alpiwood. They produce consistent re-cut veneers for shipping and aircraft work. Very popular in the 80's.

Old skool kit all the way for me. Moved on to a numbers matching pair of Rogers LS3/5A BBC monitors after IMF and Acoustic Research floor standing and was blown away by the detail. Currently bookshelf mounted and sounding awesome. Kits got to look good too so I've got period Quad gear feeding them. ...

Re: New record for 1974 Carrera?
Wheels with gold centres were available in 1974 as option M451 but usually I think the matching gold Carrera script was specified. I also think the centre caps should be bright aluminium rather than black for 1974. 1974 model Carreras with black trim still had the chrome headlamps, for 1975 body co...

Re: A.F.N. Brand
Here's a couple of AFN stickers on 911's. The first is original and on a late 70's car. The second was seen on a mid 80's 911 but I believe this logo dates from the early to mid 90's when AFN were also into Audi in a big way. http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n283/dugmack/afnwindow_zps7baf5e63.jpg ...
