Porsche 911 electronic speedo

Hi, I am looking for an electronic speedo for a 911 (Late 70`s onwards) so that I can swap a later 3.2 Carrera 915 gearbox into my `72 Hot rod. Here`s hoping someone can help. Many thanks. Lee

Re: Upholstery shop

Worth having a chat with Matthew at Artisan (As per Bootsy`s suggestion) the work is top notch as he was the in house trimmer at Eagle E types for over 20 years.

Re: 1987 3.2 Carrera Backdate project - Sladeys hotrod

I haven`t checked to see if your Canems system uses the standard IAC valve( and its` operating system)but if it does have you checked that the throttle linkage has enough free play to close the idle switch as if it doesn`t then will it actually operate the duty cycle control of the IAC valve, a very...

Re: Targa Vent Window Cap 1/4 Glass Stopper

The easiest way to adjust the upper limit for the travel is by removing the door card and you will find a "Wedge" which porsche fitted within the scissor mechanism of the window regulator to govern the top limit of travel. Also check that the bottom quarter light support bracket in the bas...

Re: 2.4 Distributor - Borrow?

I recently had the same/similar problem on a 2.4e which had been fitted with a Bosch exchange distributor at some point, eventually I traced the fault to the lower bush in the shaft being loose in the distributor body and walking up the shaft at higher revs. The owner who prepares classic BMW race c...

Re: G50 (1987 Carrera) – Shifter Question

On G50s as part of the selector mechanism there is an internal lever that follows an internal gate and the shaft that this pivots on can fracture but still allow gear selection, but it will be alot more vague. I have seen this a number of times on 993s and less so on 964s but not yet on a 3.2 but no...

Re: 964/993/GT3(996) crank - testing the water

It might be worth trying Freisinger over in Germany as I bought a new early GT3 crank from them about 12 months ago ( to build a 3.8 964 which went in a 72 chassis) and it cost just under £1200 landed in the UK.

Re: 1987 3.2 Carrera Backdate project - Sladeys hotrod

Sounds like an interesting project on a car I have followed with interest ,and would love to see some performance comparisons when you have it all sorted. As an aside you will find an idle adjustment screw with a 7 or 8 mm hex head just below the butterfly level on the throttle butterfly on all 3.2s...
