Re: Help diagnosing a suspension clonk

I've had a very similar sounding clonk that I was puzzled with for ages which turned out to be a shock absorber .

Re: Carb Whisperer needed

Update, went to Northampton Motorsport, luckily didn't spend too much time as diagnosed two issues. 1) The distributor curve is not right 2) The carb butterfly shaft bushes are shot and have a lot of movement No point of continuing from there until I got these sorted. Carbs have been professionally ...

Re: Carb Whisperer needed

Booked at Northampton Motorsport for September as its the earliest they have. BS Motorsport as backup. Looks like Peter Baldwin has retired. My carbs are actually IDS with extra enrichment so I suspect my standard 2.0 is a tiny bit rich at the top end but thats not where the problems are. As with mo...

Re: Carb Whisperer needed

What seems to be the problem with your carbs ? Don't want to turn this into tech discussion on carbs really but just as a summary, carbs have been rebuilt, seemingly running correctly. Fuel tank was changed as original was leaking at the seam and since then it's been carburation chaos. You'd assume...

Re: Carb Whisperer needed

Just came out of Tuthills with the issues I'm having now, reluctant to go with big boys to be honest.

Carb Whisperer needed

Could anyone recommend a carb tuning guru (i'm on 40 IDAs). Have followed every guide imaginable and perhaps have ran out of own talent. I'm in Bedfordshire so somewhere in the South East would be preferable.

It won't be as you say it wasn't ordered by AFN but was delivered to UK and had first service by them.

I doubt they'll be able to dig anything up for 300882, as it wasn't ordered through AFN.
It was shipped by/through AFN to England and is on their record.

Re: 64 65 66 Porsche 911 RHD platform and database

It's interesting that there is very detailed history from 70s onwards but the first 5 years are shrouded in mystery. Unfortunately Mr. Shirley is long gone but the Hamiltons are still alive who he sold the car in '66 in Australia. Worth noting that 12th Armoured Infantry Brigade https://www.army.mod...

Interesting , so we know that not all cars had the Kardex note, next challenge would be to find one below chassis 302xxx

Yes the earliest i've seen was late '68, have never seen an earlier kardex with RHD marking and I looked through a lot when searching for a RHD early car.

Re: 64 65 66 Porsche 911 RHD platform and database

I have not seen a KARDEX with any RHD note on early cars. If someone has it I'd be interested to see. Normally shipment to AFN denotes RHD. Here is mine https://photos.app.goo.gl/7WycT8d6Aia9zKTd9 https://photos.app.goo.gl/7WycT8d6Aia9zKTd9 Kahrmann is of course now Porsche Centrum Fulda @DEEMAN I h...

Re: 64 65 66 Porsche 911 RHD platform and database

Absolutely, will take some detailed pics. One thing I can reveal is that 11 years ago the car looked like this https://photos.app.goo.gl/8QLnu2wPMZEwCv3E8 It was actually "futuredated" to look like a 70s car with fiberglass arches, fuchs etc. The owner at the time undertook a detailed rebu...
