Speaking as someone who has only very recently bought what I would term as a 'rolling project', and I'm sure my ambitions for it aren't as grand as yours (I just want to keep it going for long enough to enjoy it for a while); I feel qualified to say how much it stinks that you have had to make this ...

Handbrake update
I spent some time on this on Sunday morning... I imagined I would be under the car, adjusting the cable length (and therefore the lever travel) at the back of the bulkhead, but looking at the installation with the drivers seat out, there didn't seem to be much wasted cable-length in the cabin, and t...

Mines from Classic Editions, its abit baggy but is hard on the outside and soft in the middle, I've used it extensively all year round and I'm pretty impressed. Think I paid about £120 a few years ago. I have one for the fourteen and it's a very good fit and excellent quality. Is it a cap or a full...

Outdoor covers
Hi,
I'd like an outdoor, all-weather cover to reassure myself about dry carpets / floorpan rust - preferably just to cover the cabin area.
Anyone out there using one?
Where from and what price?
Ta.

you can still get Haynes manuals for 914s, I bought one of their website the other year, about £15 Haynes don't always cover everything, but I'm sure the hand brake mech would be in there. Also checkout http://www.pelicanparts.com/914/914tech_articles.htm It came with a Haynes manual.... :) Sorry y...

Whatever the case is, I know it's not you being thick - if anything, it's me being a newbie, but I'm grateful for the response :) Yes, in fact, it could be the lever going too high - and no, I didn't know about the adjustment possibilites on the 'other' side of the bulkhead. It actually makes a lot ...

914 Early hand brake lever
Hi. 1972 914 with two-part hand brake lever. I knew it was going to be trouble when I bought it - the hand brake locked on at the end of the test drive... I thought at first it was a problem at the caliper end(s), but they are both absolutely fine - one recon unit, the other has had a rebuild kit, a...

Newbe questions
Hello - really basic stuff to get me going, please :) 1. Where are the safe jacking points - as many as possible, please - and as I need to buy a new trolley jack anyway, any recommendations? - and minimum height requirements to get access to the jacking points that I don't know about? 2. How consis...

Insurance costs
If it's not too indescrete, can I ask how much you pay for insurance on your 914? I've never looked at classic car policies before - though as my daily car is now 9 years old, maybe I should be covering that on a classic policy too... If I manage to complete the transaction, I'll have a 1972 914 1.7...
