I have a disc brake conversion on my car and we have sold 18 sets with only good results-absolutely brilliant if you change the supplied pads to something good like Mintex or Ferodo. If you are not aware the new plastic housings are just that and no more-they are great if you have old units to take out the backing covers and looms plus the internal reflectors and holder/lens and then you will need new seals. If you don't have those bits they can't be used. Peter Andrews

Try the CV joint first assuming they are Lobro you can fit larger ball bearings but good used joints are cheap.PA

There are four qualities of bearings-colloquially American and then good, better and best. The SWB have an inner and outer bearing which was later combined to become onedouble for the LWB cars-they should cost about £140 the pair each wheel for good quality stuff. PA Transend

Assume yours is a G50, lower the engine and box as a unit, ie just the rear mounts on atrolley jack-you can't do it otherwise-takes 45 minutes. If a 915 bring hand in from the otherside ie middle of the car-its easy then -Transend

Careful folks the most common cause of apparent wear here is actually the tiny top hat sleeve that sits under the retaining spring on the wheel. All columns move without the wheel on but most people loose the sleeve and don't notice that it is missing, it is that that gives the play. Weve had 86 req...
