Re: Bosch MFI fuel pump

matteo68 wrote: Wed Dec 20, 2023 3:02 pm Hi John

I need two pumps (E/S type) for my ST project. I’ve found one in Belgium needing refurbishment and need one more. The one in my donor T isn’t suitable as it had a CIS injection when we received it.
My mistake, thought you had a leaky one. Hope you find one Matt.

Re: Bosch MFI fuel pump

Hi Matt, in my experience they often leak as when they dry out the O rings shrink. Have you tried running the leaking pump to make sure its full of petrol then leaving it for a few days to let the O rings swell. Ive done this twice on my MFI pump and its worked each time.

Re: DDK CLM 2022 diary thread

A 4.5 hour drive down to Cambridge for an overnight stay with Simon, a good feed of home made lasagne and an early night. Just a quick 2.5 dash down to the Tunnel this morning.

Re: My '72 911T

My quest for an absence of glowing alternator light hasn’t concluded, but along the way I found the alternator bearings were, errr, past their best ;) Just replaced them alongside Le Mans packing. Now spins easily without sounding like a bag of spanner’s! Light still on though :) https://uploads.ta...

Re: 1969T tastefully modified

Well would you look at that, the last update January last year. I would say a lot has happened since, but it has been super slow progress for a number of reasons. But hey, time goes by and things get there eventually. To anyone who has forgotten  this is a replacement of the wheezy 2.0 E motor...

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?

Yesterday I picked the early car up from In The Detail, a local detailing shop. Rich the owner really has done a stunning job of it. Shame to get it dirty. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220619/21177f6691fc709832c07acb7f7ffd80.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220619/5553d97cbfdb0f6faf01af2...

Re: Changing Cars

What a fantastic read Jeremy, life can throw a few curve balls at you. But its great to hear you and the bride are enjoying both cars. Both the easy cars and the 996 GT3 are something really special.

We all need to make sure we pile the miles on and make them memories.

Re: MFI Injectors - Clean or Replace

So I got my tester and initially thought oh good 5/6 are OK, chirp at the right point and they all sprayed the same way. 6 wasn't really doing anything much other than spraying a star shaped bunch of jets on the first pump But then I went to try and find how a new injector behaved... https://youtu....

If you had to choose just one 911, can’t imagine you would be too disappointed with this. It’s a stunning car Jon.

Re: MFI Injectors - Clean or Replace

John - thank you so much for the quick reply that looks really interesting and very under the price of a single injector. I may well pull the trigger on that under the heading of worth a punt. Are you saying that no ultrasonics are necessary for this? I've not used an ultrasonic bath myself, but I'...

Re: MFI Injectors - Clean or Replace

I have had quite a lot of success cleaning injectors. I have used a injector tester like this. https://www.vevor.co.uk/injector-nozzle-tester-c_10329/diesel-injector-nozzle-pop-pressure-tester-genuine-ag-precision-economical-p_010783068030?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIw7PE6PT_9wIV8mDmCh2I4gFyEAQYASABEgKVsfD_Bw...
