Re: Am I getting old??

Icon EVs. Or our very own Moggy. The inspiration for the future of hotrodding is already here. There WILL always be cars built in lockups but the power choices are now much greater for the donor project: £10k+ V8 motor? £10k+ twin turbo 4cyl? £10k+ 48IDA VW etc... or slot in your Amazon overnighted,...

Re: Relative Values?

Have you considered a modern Alfa? The Spider 2.2 JTS 185bhp, or its fatter 3.2 JTS V6 24v Q4 265bhp big sister? Ebay search brought up some lovely well-cared for, low miles 07/08s for good money... Brera Q4 was a superb fast cruiser.

Really stunning.

Kenny was a diminutive man of taste. Did it have a booster seat or simply well-crafted blocks on the pedals?

Re: Relative Values?

Mundane service parts are surprisingly cheap if you go direct OE and not MB reboxed. Full seal replacement costs on the hard tops - for all SLs - are crippling so get a good one that's spent it's life off the car in the garage/barn. We didn't. However, as with most quality MB parts, you'll only repl...

Re: Relative Values?

We now keep our 230SL in long term storage as cold winters in a ventilated barn were starting to get to her. The odd small bubble on a wheel arch etc. Easily sorted but best avoided we thought. However, in original condition and before expensive restoration, it lived out in all weathers under a cout...

Re: 356 limo!

'It was the limousines signature length that proved the largest challenge, both from a structural perspective and to stay true to a design that looked as though it could have left Ferry Porsches desk with a stamp of approval.' Nailed that brief then. Yes, exactly what Ferry would have penned after a...

Re: Pagoda

Nice. Everybody should. We've had Pagodas on and off for twenty five years now and they are by far the easiest of classic cars to own... once restored that is. If it comes to it, don't scrimp on a fuel pump rebuild. Spend proper money to rebuild if you want authenticity, or stump up for an excellent...

Interesting. It's also worth noting that a #3 'Shorty' anal pacifier slides comfortably into a 356 fag socket. No girth issues. Utterly useless of course, but hey...

Nice. Weighty too I imagine? particularly like the stand-off base rivets/studs...

Update: I re-read it... yes, heavy at 2KGs!
